Book of Your Original Poems
(135 points)--Due: Friday, Dec. 12th
(1/2 credit if late)—Typed—Professionally Bound
· You will be creating a professionally bound book of 20 of your original poems.
· You may use any poems from this class and you may even write some new ones.
· If you use haiku or poems less than five lines, you will need two to count as one.
· You must have some artwork, a design or photograph for the cover. You may also include artwork, etc. with the poems. The artwork, photographs, etc. does not have to be your own.
Assignment and rubric:
____(10 pts) 1. Your book is professionally bound (Print Smith, Kinkos, Staples). Make sure you have all your pages ready with a cover so all the printer has to do is put a binding on it.
____(5 pts) 2. The cover has artwork, some design or a copy of a photograph along with the title and your name.
____(10 pts) 3. Each page is professional looking and typed.
____(100 pts) 4. You have at least 20 poems (2 Haiku or small poems count as 1 poem) in your book that are edited and polished. You may include more.
____(5 pts) 5. You have a table of contents page listing all your poem titles and page numbers that is typed and neat.
____(5 pts) 6. You have a ½ page intro about you and your poems after the table of contents. (A brief autobiography and some things about your writing and your writing process. This can be in poem form.)
